Message from Sean…
Wow – year two is behind us the lodge is closed down for the season. As I write this Anita and I are in Minneapolis for your Thanksgiving Holiday and it caused me to reflect on this past season of good friends, great fishing and the beauty that is Tazin Lake. Even with the spectacular fishing and all the wildlife that we encounter at Tazin, I am still struck each day by the amazing beauty of the area. If I begin to take it for granted there’s always a guest or two that remind me and I realize just how lucky we are!
Year two wasn’t without its share of glitches though, and for those of you who experienced some of the issues we had with planes you have my sincere and heartfelt apology. Know that we are committed to making Tazin Lake Lodge a great experience from start to finish and are taking the necessary steps during the off-season to ensure we deliver on that promise.
What about the fishing you ask…well once again I was amazed by the quality of the Walleye fishing we have on a nearby fly out lake. Guests who took the time to fly over were treated to some of the best walleye fishing most had ever encountered. The big Lake Trout didn’t cooperate until July this year but we still caught a several fish in the 60 pound range with good numbers of fish in the 30 to 50 pound class. The pike fishing was everything I hoped it would be when I bought the place and left Wollaston Lake, where pike are king. Our largest Pike in 2007 was 49” and there were many fish caught in the mid to upper 40s.
Hope to see you ’08!!
